Cross No. 712

Description

This Orthodox silver cross is distinguished by its expressive relief, finely crafted details, and clearly rendered inscriptions. Its harmonious composition brings together important Christian symbols that convey the meaning of Christ’s sacrifice on the Cross and His victory over death.

The front of the cross features the Crucifixion of our Lord Jesus Christ. Above it is the inscription “King of Glory,” affirming Christ’s divine majesty. At the foot of the Cross appears the word “NIKA,” a Greek term meaning “victory.” It symbolises Christ’s triumph over death and the promise of eternal life.

The reverse bears the short prayer “Save and Protect,” a heartfelt appeal to the Lord for protection, guidance, and spiritual strength.

The prayer is framed by a grapevine—one of the most ancient and meaningful symbols in Christianity. In the Gospel, Christ says: “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser” (John 15:1). The grapevine is also associated with the Sacrament of the Eucharist: wine made from grapes represents the Blood of Christ during Holy Communion.

Carefully crafted imagery, expressive relief, and meaningful inscriptions give this cross a special spiritual depth. It is suitable for everyday wear and makes a thoughtful keepsake for a Baptism, name day, birthday, or another significant occasion.

A Meaningful Devotional Addition

The cross is accompanied by a laminated devotional card measuring 65 × 95 mm.

The front of the card depicts the reliquary shrine containing the holy relics of Venerable Gabriel of Samtavro (Urgebadze). Attached to the reverse is a small piece of cloth blessed at the saint’s relics, together with a brief explanatory text in Russian or Georgian.

Created for personal prayer and spiritual reflection, the card may offer comfort, encouragement, and renewed hope during challenging times. Saint Gabriel is deeply revered by Orthodox Christians, many of whom prayerfully seek his intercession in times of illness, sorrow, uncertainty, and hardship. The card serves as a precious reminder of God’s mercy, the power of sincere prayer, and the saint’s compassionate intercession.

This special set combines the refined beauty of a finely detailed silver cross with the profound symbolism of the Orthodox faith and a spiritual connection to Venerable Gabriel Urgebadze—one of the most beloved Orthodox saints of modern times.

The set makes a thoughtful and spiritually significant gift for a Baptism, name day, wedding, Orthodox feast day, birthday, or memorable family occasion. More than a piece of jewellery, it is a sacred devotional keepsake—a lasting symbol of faith, prayer, divine protection, and trust in God.
